Downgragre from vista to xp
Here is the web site:. Dell Installed Linux OS on laptops in Microsofts reaction, Vista, picked up from the foreigner who yelled, "We stalled! In reality he was trying to say, "We stalled and Linux OS came up!
They claim that the users don't even know it's Vista! Here is where their claim falls apart;. Anyone who knows anything about a computer checks system information as soon as they get on a "new computer". Vista runs web browsers faster than other OS's, unless the user was used to Mozilla, which had a prefetch plugin similar to Vista's superfetch Which by the way I hope they get sued for as well and then they wouldn't notice a difference, unless the machine had low ram Vista utilizes every last MB of it leaving none to run anything major, like any type of gaming application, excel, etc.
If you want to watch videos, you need a lot of updates and not just from microsoft! Well, if you're ready, just do these simple steps;. Unplug all power cords within 5 feet of you. Wait until the storm is close enough you hear the thunder and can see some lightning. Put your monitor in a safe area. In another room is usually best, but not an adjacent room.
Shut any doors, and block any entrances to the room you are standing in. Where your computer is located. Bounce your tower off the floor as many times as you can. Hint: Dropping it will allow you to abuse it more, and less chance of breaking windows or putting it through walls!
Hook it all back up. Do not plug the power bar back in until a storm, make sure only the tower is connected to the power bar!! Watch the fireworks. I've been up for 3 days trying to make this hunk of junk Vista system run Pirates of the Caribbean online, so if I sound a little retarded, Vista done this to me, lack of sleep.
XP on a 3 year old laptop runs it perfect, with just an intel chipset, it runs like this should be running if it was 10 years old. Microsoft, moveover, Linux has something to say and we want to hear them for once! Class action suit? Our "dinosaur" Dell WXP works just as well. Stuck between a rock and a hard place.. Let me know if anyone finds a solution that can be performed by someone with less computer knowledge I was used to "updates" or "patches" to help me fix what I felt we paid good money for.
Now I have to be an ITS grad or have enough money to have someone else fix it or buy new. My thoughts go out to those of you who have a lot of computer know-how and are still lost. That's what I see on this forum a lot. That would really suck. That tells me there is no fix I would be stupid to buy a new xp disc and reload vista when i just spent over on this new machine complete with a dual core athlon,3gb memory and decent graphics card that cannot do the job my old dx loaded with win 95 and 98 and then another machine with a amd 1.

Come on Friday, October 19, PM. You obviously work for this lame company.. Why dont you go buy me a new operating system for It is lame that will offer it to a business to downgrade but not the individual user. This operating system is pure trash and refuses to work with half of the hardware I install. Please dont be a moron and say something like, " Well you are not doing it right". I have been in the IT industry for 15 years and work on comps 8 to 10 hours a day. This is just like every other system MS puts out.
They design it then put it on the market for the users to work out the bugs and the kicker is.. Please MS Please let us who dont want to play your "fix it" game to downgrade for free.!!!!! Sunday, November 11, PM. I very much agree with this post by dafacct!!! Once again, I'm looking long and hard at the MAC. And then choose to install on that just formatted partition or hard drive. Enter any product key for XP. Vista product key will not work. If you own a legitimate Windows Vista edition that allows for downgrade See Vista downgrade rights , call Microsoft after performing the clean install of Windows XP Pro to activate the XP installation.
Install the drivers for your system devices. Reinstall any software programs that you want to use. Posted by: Social Observer 29 Aug I've attempted to downgrade from vista to xp. Upon completion of loading xp install disk, I get No disk found or available message, and can go no further. I've also looked at disk m'gmt to format C: drive, but I'm not allowed to, only the recovery drive is formattable.
How do I perform this downgrade?? Posted by: rahul 19 Sep I have licenced vista business key , but I want to install xp in my pc. How to install and How to activate my key? Posted by: Jason Martin 27 Feb Please I desperately need some tech advice on that. Posted by: Donnatella 20 Mar I've tried reinstalling XP but receive a message that I cannot revert back. My laptop came pre-installed with Vista.
Nothing seems to let me reinstall XP after requesting a HD wipe. Posted by: Johnny 31 Mar Press F3 to terminate Posted by: Bill 31 May I just put XP Pro on my Inspiron Went fairly easy. I went online and got the xp drivers for the devices listed in my device manager. Dell has them all available at their website. I did, however, use a new hard drive. I took out the original one and put it in a portable USB case. That way I can transfer files as needed - IF needed.
It also keeps my original in tact along with the recover partition and software. It was about 40 bucks for a faster and better WD drive at Dell.
You need to turn off the Flash first than switch to ATA. It also helps if you download the Service pack 2 seperately for XP before you do it. Most programs and Virus protection will need SP2. I run NIS and it works great. The reason I switch was the ever present "Blue Screen of Death". I got sick of it. I found out in all this that I pretty sure my original hard drive is bad. Now I have and gb Western Digital Drives in it. Than I have the original and another in cases I bought for a few bucks from Dell.
They work great for laptop drives. The are StarTech Info Safe 2. They are quick to install drive and work flawlessly. Comes with a double USB for power and info transfer. You need to plug both USB cables in. So, to set up your computer, just do some research on it. If you have a type in your search bar "XP Drivers for Inspiron " You should find some reputable sites to get them, regardless of the manufacturer. I understand this was an option Microsoft offered to these types of PCs that were shipped with the first release of vista at no charge.
How can I do this? This thread is locked. You can follow the question or vote as helpful, but you cannot reply to this thread. I have the same question 1. Report abuse.
