Create dial up icon windows 7
Click the Network and Internet Connections option. Choose Network Connections. Right-click your Dial-Up Connection icon and choose Properties. Windows Vista Windows Vista changes that process completely, as many of you have discovered, but reader Larry Jablon writes in with a quick way to place a dial-up shortcut on your Vista Desktop: Choose Control Panel from the Start menu. Clicking that option reveals all your network connections, including your dial-up Internet connection.
Right-click your dial-up Internet icon and choose Create Shortcut from the pop-up menu. In the User name box, enter the Username information from the brochure you received when you signed up with us. In the Password box, enter the Password information from the brochure you received when you signed up with us.
Your password will show up as a series of dots as you type, unless you place a checkmark in the " Show characters " box just below the Password box.
Place a checkmark in the " Remember the password " box, or you will have to type in the password every time you dial up. If your computer has more than one account, and if you want all accounts to dial up to the Internet, then place a checkmark in " Allow other people to use this connection " box. This will trigger a User Account Control alert. Click on the Connect button. Your computer will try to dial up to the Internet and test your Internet connection.
If the test is successful, then you will get a window stating " Select a location for the "SDC Internet" network. If the test fails because your modem phone cable is not plugged in, then plug in the cable and click on the Try again button.
To use a smart card for authentication, select Use A Smart Card. You must have a smart card reader installed on the computer to use this option. If you select this option, proceed to step Selecting this option requires that you have local administrative credentials for the computer so that you can respond to the User Account Control UAC prompt that appears.
Click Next and specify the credentials user name, password, and optionally the domain you will use to be authenticated by the RAS server. This option is available only if you left the option to Use A Smart Card cleared earlier in the wizard.
