Predictably things take a turn for the worse and so a Great compelling story begins. The gameplay is pretty solid also but it later starts to show its age. The characters are all really likable and will be responsible for some funny moments that will have you smiling all the way through playing this game.

The anime scenes are rendered beautifully but the in-game visuals are a bit lacking. A few notes: If you're one of those people who like to have cut scenes intact during runs, then you're in luck. You can't skip them in this game. One thing that's annoying is that you have to talk to certain random people, or the story won't advance. An example would be when I go into the sewer in Meribia, talk to the guy, and come back out. So that's why I talk to seemingly random people a few times in the game. The only time I fight random battles in the game except for getting the giant root is in the second segment.

I have to level up in order to get the Flamer spell, which allows me to beat the Bronze Dogs.
